Unveiling The National Garden's Living Laboratories
The National Garden opened to the public on October 1, 2006. It provides "living laboratories" for environmental, horticultural, and botanical education in a contemplative setting. Guests on opening weekend were treated to live music, free roses, and a number of craft displays.
Capitol Visitor Center's "Wall of Inspirations"
In the Exhibition Hall (EH), workers continue to assemble the steel framework that will support the marble “Wall of Aspirations,” which will house 40 to 50 historic documents down the center of the EH. Workers are installing insulated tubular air duct below the floor grid and the duct now reaches some of the document window locations within the Unistrut system.
